Overview

History is educational, entertaining and an indispensable part of general education. History studies the development of human society in time and space; she gains her knowledge primarily from working with historical sources.

In the teacher training course you will receive a comprehensive qualification for high school history lessons. This includes mastering the working methods and methods of historical studies and dealing with historical facts from the individual epochs (ancient, medieval, modern) as well as the ability to convey these appropriately to students of different ages. Subject didactics - that is, knowledge of subject-specific teaching methods and their practical application - therefore plays an essential role in the course of the course.

 

Entry requirements

As an orientation procedure you need proof of the teacher orientation test CCT, Career Counseling for Teachers.

The sum of the points achieved in the Abitur certificate is divided: For Abitur certificates with a maximum number of points of 900 points, this is divided by 30, for Abitur certificates with a maximum number of points of 840 points, it is divided by 28 (max. 30 points) .

Other selection criteria  (maximum 5 points):

  • completed vocational training
  • practical activities
  • extracurricular achievements, e.g. prizes and awards.

Selection:
The scores from school performance and other performance are added together (max. 35 points). A ranking list is created on the basis of the number of points determined in this way.

Language requirements

To be completed by the orientation test at the latest: Latinum as well as knowledge of English (at least level B2) and another foreign language (at least level A2)
