How do you help someone to find the “right” job ? What does learning material have to look like so that adults can work with it well? Which factors promote our learning, which are disruptive? Vocational education deals with the design of teaching-learning processes and focuses on such and similar questions. For this purpose, professional educators use didactic models, educational theories and existing scientific knowledge. The content of the course prepares students for activities in vocational training and further education or personnel development .

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

In the first two semesters, you build a foundation of methodical and technical knowledge using mandatory basic and core modules in order to have a professional educational knowledge base. These include among others, the introduction to the vocational education , the organization of vocational training , the research methodology or educational psychology . The core of the course is made up of advanced seminars in the areas of didactics , vocational training research and the organization of vocational training in order to deepen the basic knowledge acquired.

 

From the 3rd semester onwards, you have the opportunity to take supplementary modules and specialize individually, depending on your personal interests. The in-depth studies relate, for example, to corporate educational work , vocational training research , vocational training and labor law , digital media in training and further education and social skills .

 

The course is rounded off by a three-month specialist internship in order to be able to apply the theoretically acquired knowledge and define potential professional fields.

 

CAREER PROSPECTS

The course prepares for in-company educational work in all its facets. In particular, the area of ??vocational education and training represents a diverse field of work that offers excellent prospects due to the increasing need for further training in companies. Activities in the following areas are typical:

  • Personnel management (e.g. personnel dispatcher)
  • In-company training and further education (e.g. training advisor or trainer)
  • Company educational work (e.g. education officer)
  • Teaching / learning material manufacturer
  • Career counseling
  • Professional training
  • Business consulting
  • Educational research

If vocational education is chosen as a minor, the choice of career is primarily based on the major.
