Global health is the vision of a world free of preventable diseases, in which physical and mental health is promoted in all societies and the life expectancy of people is extended overall. Essential measures to achieve these goals are the strengthening of national health systems, the fight against antibiotic resistance, the containment of diseases and improved preparation for global pandemics.
The advanced master's program Global Health Risk Management & Hygiene Policies is offered by the University of Bonn in cooperation with the Institute for Environment and Human Security (EHS) at the University of the United Nations (UNU) and is largely based on the goals of the UN for sustainable development . Strategies and prerequisites for the prevention and control of health risks are taught and conveyed how health protection and promotion, supply structures and protective measures against natural disasters can be ensured. The course is based on the strategies and recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The interdisciplinary course is aimed at university graduates who have at least two years of study-relevant professional experience and who would like to gain a scientifically sound further qualification for the demanding job as a "Global Health Professional".
