The specializations of the master’s degree in physics are based on the Bonn research focus on particle physics as well as photonics and condensed matter. In addition, interdisciplinary questions enable students to recognize interdisciplinary relationships and classify them scientifically. You learn to apply scientific methods and findings independently, responsibly and critically.
The course teaches the ability to grasp complex internal physical relationships and problems and to analyze and largely solve them using scientific methods, even beyond the current limits of knowledge. On the one hand, this requires a technical deepening in the specialist areas. On the other hand, the practical and strategic problem-solving skills in highly complex issues arising from the ability to think fundamentally are learned.
Due to this in-depth analytical and methodological competencies, but also against the background of an in-depth and research-oriented mathematical and scientific education, graduates of the course are flexibly prepared for the requirements in different professional fields.
Science (teaching / research at universities, research institutions, etc.), research and development (industry), administration and management, patents, authorities and ministries, financial and software services, consulting, monitoring / control of production and sales
