The English-language master’s degree in Economics imparts analytical and methodological knowledge, models and approaches to solving central societal challenges. The course is theoretically sound, research-oriented and covers all areas of economics. Among other things, the program imparts advanced mathematical, statistical and econometric knowledge and enables students to understand complex economic models and to assess the relevance and limits of economic theories. Students are introduced to current topics and debates in economic research and are given the opportunity to apply their knowledge to a wide range of economic topics.
The course content and method development are deliberately future-oriented. For example, the changes in markets due to digitization and internationalization are an important subject of the course. As a basis, sound knowledge in the core areas of macro and microeconomics, financial market economics and econometrics is imparted at an advanced level. In addition, the students are introduced to the latest research in the course of “research seminars” by discussing new research results and working on their own research projects.
