The master's degree in English Literatures and Cultures deals with the literatures and cultures of Great Britain and the post-colonial world. Graduates with a relevant undergraduate degree can deepen and expand their knowledge and understanding of the topic in the master’s program and at the same time develop advanced research skills.
In terms of content, the course focuses on the English Renaissance as well as on British literatures and cultures from the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries to the present day. In addition, post-colonial literary and cultural studies are deepened. Due to the interdisciplinary orientation, the examination of language, literature and culture always includes historical, philosophical, political and media science issues. In the course of the course, individual priorities can be set by taking elective and research modules.
