Overview

The Chinese subsidiary subject is linguistically oriented. It enables a well-founded basic training in modern high-level Chinese. The training is completed by taking the compulsory modules in the core subject Asian Studies, Sinology profile.

Students who are interested in studying the Chinese-speaking cultural area or who, after completing their bachelor's degree, are considering continuing their studies as part of the Asian studies master’s course with a focus on Sinology, Chinese language and translation or art history in Asia and the Orient should accordingly from At the beginning of your studies, please note the following: The secondary subject Chinese is compulsory for the core subject Asian Studies: Sinology profile, as essential language skills are taught here.

The accompanying subject can also be combined as an option from the language courses offered by the Institute for Oriental and Asian Studies with the core subject Asian Studies: Profile Art History in Asia and the Orient.
