At the University of Bonn, the two subjects political science and sociology have merged in one institute. The joint teaching degree course in "Social Sciences" provides students with basic scientific and professional knowledge of the interdependencies and interdependencies in politics and society.

It should enable the students to grasp social and political problems, to classify them in broader contexts and to develop the basic approaches of social, political and state theory. The students should learn to analyze the conditions in which social problems arise and how they are solved with regard to historical requirements, possibilities for shaping and influencing, decision-making structures, evaluation criteria, etc.

Career Prospects

Teaching at grammar schools and comprehensive schools. For teaching at state schools, a Master of Education and preparatory service are required following the Bachelor's degree.
