The aim of physics is to record states and processes in nature qualitatively and quantitatively and to describe them using general principles. From the macrocosm to the microcosm, physics deals with the basic building blocks of the world around us and with their interactions.
This includes the search for the elementary building blocks and their properties (elementary particle physics) but also, on every scale, the description of the structures, i.e. such as protons and neutrons from quarks (hadron physics), atomic nuclei from protons and neutrons (nuclear physics), atoms made up of nuclei and electron shells (atomic physics), molecules and solids from atoms (physics of condensed matter), etc.
In addition to the findings themselves and their applications, the physical method itself has a special meaning: The interplay of theory and experiment has proven to be extremely successful for the development of analytical skills and for the recognition of complex relationships.

Teaching at grammar schools and comprehensive schools. For teaching at state schools, a Master of Education and preparatory service are required following the Bachelor's degree.
