The focus of the German subject (Bachelor's degree in teaching) is on the fields of Modern German Literature, German Medieval Studies, German Linguistics and subject didactics for the subject German.

On the one hand, German-language literature is researched in its literary and cultural-historical as well as media dimensions from its beginnings in the early Middle Ages to the present day. On the other hand, the focus is on dealing with the German language from its early language levels to today's language. In subject didactics, in turn, students get to know didactic concepts for structuring German lessons and discuss subject-specific skills, methods and work techniques.

German language skills (language level GeR C1)

Career Prospects

  • Teaching at grammar schools and comprehensive schools. For teaching at state schools, a Master of Education and preparatory service are required following the Bachelor's degree.
