Through the combination with the additional subject Turkish, the students receive an intensive Turkish education, which is of elementary importance for dealing with the contents of the core subject profile Islamic Studies / Turkish History and Society. Its additional application-related component makes the subsidiary subject Turkish also attractive for students with other core subject profiles.
The accompanying subject must be completed as part of the three language modules Turkish I-III. The Institute for Oriental and Asian Studies (IOA) teaches language skills along with the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In addition, each of these modules is assigned e-learning units that are assigned to the specific content in each case and that the students work on independently outside of the contact hours. The courses provided in the accompanying subject Turkish all represent practical language exercises in which the students learn Turkish using suitable foreign-language didactic methods and concepts in theory and practice.

Incidentally, possible occupational fields correspond strongly with the core subject Asian Studies.
