All industrial engineering courses at TU Darmstadt are characterized by their strong interdisciplinarity . They contain almost the same proportions from economics (business and economics) and law on the one hand and engineering on the other.

The master’s courses in industrial engineering differ from the pure engineering courses in that they do not specialize in engineering. In terms of their technical subject, the students of industrial engineering attend the same events as the students of the corresponding purely technical master’s degree programs.

During the course of studies, stays abroad for entire semesters are possible.

Industrial engineers work at the interface between technical and business requirements. For example, development, marketing and product life cycles are now much more closely timed than in the past, so that processes in companies or in construction or in marketing have to be handled more in parallel than in the past. Industrial engineers have the necessary knowledge from both areas for this interface requirement. Graduates of the industrial engineering course - technical specializing in mechanical engineering can find employment in management positions as well as in research and development . Belong to their employersMachine, vehicle and aircraft construction companies as well as logistics companies, consulting and service companies . You take over z. B. operational tasks in the areas of production control, quality assurance, process monitoring as well as in controlling and marketing .
