This Master’s program is designed as a post-graduate continuation of a first professional university degree in the field of dentistry and aims at in-depth, professional specialization in the treatment of periodontal diseases. In the course, students acquire practical training in diagnostics, prevention and non-surgical treatment of periodontal diseases. In addition, students receive in-depth, practical training in operative procedures (periodontal surgery).
A blended-learning concept, which incorporates digital teaching and learning with short attendance blocks, enables participants to receive the highest level of academic and practical training whilst limiting time away from home and work.
The standard period of study is three semesters. The master program includes 9 modules over one and a half years. Each module includes live online-seminars and two days of hands-on training & lectures in Aachen, Germany. The attendance days are organised in blocks. In order to optimally integrate this master’s degree into the work routine, each module is supported by digital teaching and learning content that can be accessed at flexible times. The last semester is dedicated to the preparation and compilation of a master thesis on a periodontal disease related topic and a clinical case review.
