Two subjects are also combined in Master's teacher training studies. The combination possibilities for the teacher training subjects are identical with those in the corresponding Bachelor courses of study.

Master's teacher training studies includes not only the two subjects but other elements as well:

  • Educational studies
  • Practical semester
  • German for School Students with an Immigration Background (DSSZ)

Programme Structure

Subject-Didactic and Practical School Studies

Teaching practice and application in schools are at the focus of studies during the first two semesters. Topic areas for research questions in German lessons that are developed during the preparatory seminar and can be implemented during the practical semester, include: skill orientation; formulating problems and evaluation processes; models of literary conversations in class; media skills; action- and production-oriented process; literary learning (including eras, classic literature, youth and adolescent literature); identity orientation; problems in orthography didactics; designing grammar lessons; didactic concepts based on genre and type of text; creative writing; and argumentation, moderation, and presenting. Other intersections may arise in the form of the module "German for Students with a Migration Background." Possible aspects are: language acquisition processes in the first and second language, diagnosis process for assessing language level and development; programs and concepts for promoting language; fundamentals of intercultural communication.

  • First university degree, required qualifications according to the examination regulations
  • Proficiency in German
