From the atom to the dynamics of molecules in living cells - let yourself be inspired by the wide range of Marburg biochemistry. With us, you can deepen your knowledge in the biochemistry of metabolism, membrane biology and bioanalytics, for example. Contribute to current research topics and research the molecular understanding of microorganisms in global material cycles (greenhouse gases and soil fertility due to the availability of nitrogen and phosphorus) and their role as important pathogens for humans and plants. Benefit from the close interaction with local industrial partners on the Behring Campus and deepen your knowledge and techniques in research internships, some of which you can also complete abroad.

Focus areas
The Marburg course focuses on synthetic microbiology, structural biology and quantitative high-resolution microscopy.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

Relevant bachelor's degree in the field

  • chemistry
  • biology
  • biochemistry
  • biotechnology
  • or comparable domestic or foreign professional university degree, in particular second state examination in pharmacy.

If this is not yet available, a transcript of records with a calculated average grade based on at least 80% of the credit points required for the Bachelor's degree can be submitted.

In addition, basic knowledge comparable to the module “Biochemistry I Lecture” contained in the bachelor's degree in “Chemistry” at the Philipps University of Marburg on the structure and reactivity of biochemistry in the amount of 6 CP and in the module “Biochemistry I Internship” in the amount of 6 CP must be demonstrated.

The examination board can combine the admission with the condition that additional study achievements and / or examinations of a maximum of 6 credit points are achieved. In this case, the course can be extended accordingly

 

Proof of course-specific knowledge and skills:

Proof of knowledge of the English language according to level B2 of the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages".
