Would you like to investigate the physics of semiconductors, laser structures, light-matter interactions, solar cell materials, strongly correlated materials or complex systems? Then study the B.Sc. Physics in Marburg. Since physics is the basis of all natural science, the course is correspondingly broad. A 4-semester basic training course, which includes experimental and theoretical physics, internships and a not inconsiderable amount of mathematics, is followed by a 4-semester consolidation and specialization phase. In the specialization phase, some of the courses can also be taken outside of physics (biology, chemistry or computer science ...) so that individual inclinations can be taken into account. The 10-semester combination of Bachelor and Master, which is necessary for full training, is offered in Marburg as an 8 + 2 semester. This achieves greater flexibility, which noticeably improves the introductory phase, a focus on personal preferences, a semester abroad or the beginning of the course in the summer semester

The bachelor's degree in physics teaches the handling and processing of scientific questions as well as the assessment of scientific results. In this way, the course prepares students for work as a physicist in business, industry, scientific research institutes and public administration. The possible occupational fields are very broad and therefore often extend beyond the narrower subject, far into neighboring scientific and other disciplines.
A successfully completed bachelor's degree not only enables you to take up employment, but also qualifies you for a master's degree at universities in Germany and abroad.
