Overview

The master's degree "Environmental Systems and Sustainability - Monitoring, Modeling and Management" is a postgraduate degree with a professional qualification and imparts knowledge and skills for independent scientific work in the areas of "Monitoring, Modeling and Management of Natural Systems" with a focus on the aspects of the global Change.

Programme Structure

  • the functioning of natural systems (geosphere, pedosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and atmosphere)

  • the causes of global change and its regional and global effects

  • the monitoring of the global change through, for example, detection of water, material, mass and energy fluxes at the land surface

  • the use and development of remote sensing techniques

  • the spatial and integrated modeling of natural systems

  • the programming and use of geographic information systems

  • the scenario-based, integrative analysis of the regional effects of global change

  • the development of options for action for sustainable environmental management

Entry Requirement

Professionally qualifying degree (at least 6 semesters) in geography or a related subject OR in the 6th semester of a bachelor's degree in geography with 120 ECTS points already achieved
