Overview

The part-time master’s degree in Intra- and Entrepreneurship (tech) combines the expertise of the Hochschule der Medien and the University of Stuttgart in the areas of high-tech, technology development and business start-ups. It imparts comprehensive knowledge of corporate management and of planning, controlling and optimizing technology-oriented start-up and innovation projects.

The course focuses on business and technology-related issues that are geared towards the special requirements of start-ups, but also directly affect established companies. Among other things, you will learn to recognize opportunities for technology-oriented business ideas, to systematically validate and use them, and to develop and support innovations and solutions.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • completed university degree (at least 180 ECTS) in the fields of economics or engineering or related fields of study (at a German university or equivalent university, university of applied sciences, university of applied sciences, Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University or vocational academy whose degree is equivalent to that of a university of applied sciences , or at a foreign university). Please note that you should have achieved a grade of 2.5 or better if possible.
  • at least one year of qualified professional experience

 

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The master’s program is designed as a part-time continuing education program. The preparation of the content as well as the organization of studies and services are adapted to the needs of working people. A combination of online and face-to-face events enables you to study flexibly alongside your job.

The curriculum is divided into four module areas, which include compulsory and elective modules and enable an individual course of study. The module selection is based on the students' pre-qualifications and professional interests and is defined in an individual learning agreement. There is the possibility of setting individual priorities according to the professional background.

After passing the master’s examination, graduates receive a double degree from the University of Stuttgart and the Stuttgart Media University. The academic degree MBE: Master of Business Engineering in Intra- and Entrepreneurship (tech) is awarded.

As an alternative to the complete master’s degree, individual modules can also be taken in the form of contact studies without going through the entire curriculum. If you start your master’s degree at a later date, successfully completed modules can usually be credited towards the master’s degree. The same prerequisites apply for admission to the contact course as for admission to the master’s course.

 

CAREER PROSPECTS

In times of increasing digitization and rapidly developing technological possibilities in complex environments, high-tech, technology and technology-oriented services form a special start-up context. On the one hand, they form the founding environment itself and are founding objects. At the same time, they also provide methods and tools to meet the special challenges of complex, technology and knowledge-intensive processes. There is an increasing need for people who are specially trained for and in this context, who are able to recognize and evaluate start-up potential there and develop, implement and sustainably expand innovative ideas and concepts.

Lean startup, agile development, design thinking - this is how young companies secure first-mover advantages in fast-growing markets. Slim, agile and all the closer to customer needs.

More and more established companies are also relying on the flexible and fast methods of the start-up scene in innovation and idea management: employees become intrapreneurs and innovation responsibility is distributed from top management to other hierarchical levels. Entrepreneurial commitment becomes daily business.
