Overview

Simulation Technology makes it possible, with the help of computers, to answer questions safely, reliably and inexpensively that cannot be captured by conventional experiments. For example, how does a drug spread in lung cancer? What happens in a combustion chamber at 1200 ° C? How does a space shuttle land? How do pollutants flow underground? Simulations help here to make reliable predictions under reproducible conditions. The diverse application cases range from further developments in medicine to the development of prototypes in vehicle construction and the planning of processes to the optimization of new environmental technologies.

The basis for simulations is a broad basic knowledge of mathematics, engineering, computer science and natural sciences. From the third semester - with the help of a personal mentor - an individual timetable with subject combinations will be created according to your interests. Interdisciplinary principles and relationships are conveyed in accompanying events. The interdisciplinary networking is deepened by practical assignments

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The pre-selection is based on the average grade of the university entrance qualification. For this purpose, the sum of the points achieved in the Abitur certificate is divided: for Abitur certificates with a maximum number of points of 900 points is divided by 60, for Abitur certificates with a maximum number of points of 840 points it is divided by 56 (maximum 15 points).
Foreign grades are to be converted into German grades according to the guidelines of the KMK. A candidate can only be pre-selected for further participation in the entrance examination if he / she has achieved at least 10 points.

    b) Top-graded subject from the group “Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science” (two-fold )
    c) Top-graded subject from the group foreign language or German (simply rated)

  2. Selection interview (maximum 5 points, weighted twice)

Selection:
The number of points from the selection interview and the number of points from school performance are added together (maximum 25 points). Those who achieve at least 18 points are suitable. If there are more suitable applicants than there are places available, a ranking list is created based on the number of points.
