Chemistry is the science of substances and their transformations . Chemistry makes it possible to understand scientific phenomena , to create new substances, to be creative and to tackle important problems of mankind: The skills and knowledge of chemists are required, for example, to add new drugs, new textiles and materials or new batteries for energy supply develop. A chemistry degree combines experimental and theoretical learning in a special way : Chemistry students often work in the laboratory and at the same time learn to accompany their experiments theoretically
In the first semester you will attend lectures, seminars and exercises in physics, mathematics and general chemistry . In an internship, basic working techniques are taught in the laboratory . There important separation methods and first attempts are in the foreground of the training.
After completing your bachelor's degree, you can also study a master’s degree in chemistry at the University of Stuttgart.
