The Neurosciences Masters course is a research-oriented, international course whose main objective is to provide comprehensive training to talented students in the fast-growing field of neurosciences. Students are prepared for research or a career in a related medical or biological field.
One focus is on practical research experience in the laboratories of the participating departments and research groups. Compulsory courses in neuromorphology, neurophysiology and molecular neurobiology as well as statistics, scientific writing and research ethics lay the foundation in the first and second semester. Students then have the opportunity to focus their interests on one of these areas or choose from a wide range of topics such as neuroethology, neurogenetics, neuropharmacology, clinical neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, reconstructive neurobiology, etc.
Science / basic neurobiological research (teaching / research at universities, research institutions), work in clinics and specialist practices (e.g. neurology, neuropathology, psychiatry, etc.), private sector: development / production / marketing (pharmaceutical or medical technology industry), scientific publishing / science journalism, coordinative activities in neuroscientific organizations
