The geology course is research-oriented and is characterized by a high proportion of practical work in the field, in the laboratory and on the computer. The practical experience combined with the theoretical basics enable students to gain relevant professional experience and to develop the process understanding necessary for a professional career.

The focus of the Geology master’s course is on the exogenous processes of the earth and is characterized by a wide range of courses with the following focal points: general geology, applied geology, hydrogeology, environmental geology, geological risks, sedimentology, structural geology. By selecting and focusing on this broad, subject-specific spectrum, it is possible to create an individual study profile that corresponds to your own personal interests, skills and professional plans. The course includes a small compulsory area that is offered for all three geoscientific master’s courses (paleontology, geology and geochemistry / petrology) together. The joint events promote professional exchange between students.

Entry Requirement

 

  • Examination regulations (legally binding information)
  • University degree (domestic or foreign) rolled into one
  • German language skills (language level GeR C1)
  • English skills (language level GeR B2)
  • Minimum grade 2.5 or country-specific equivalent
