The master's degree in Geodetic Engineering is aimed at students with a first degree in geodesy and geoinformation or related subjects such as computer science, mathematics, physics, geosciences or electrical engineering. At the beginning of the course, modules are offered to harmonize previous knowledge. The subsequent course of study offers three profiles for each specialization of an area. These reflect the main research areas of the geodetic institutes: mobile sensors and robotics, geodetic earth system sciences and data analysis, as well as geographic information and spatial development.

The course imparts skills and tools to identify geodetic engineering problems, to formulate research questions and to solve them in projects. During the course, active participation in research projects is made possible, which can also be an entry-level qualification for a doctorate. The program imparts scientifically sound specialist knowledge as well as skills and methods in order to be prepared for work in industry, science and administration.

  • Specific modules: modules with a scope of 24 ECTS from at least two of the areas of mathematics, physics and programming | Modules totaling 48 ECTS from at least two of the six subject areas 1. Physical geodesy, space geodesy, geodynamics and earth system research, 2. Data analysis, modeling and scientific computing in the geoscientific context, 3. Photogrammetry, remote sensing, computer vision and robotics, 4. Geodetic measurement technology , Engineering geodesy and satellite measurement technology, 5. Algorithms, spatial databases, geographic information and geographic information systems, 6. Urban planning, land planning, property valuation and land management

Management positions in public surveying administrations (land registry offices, state survey offices), publicly appointed surveying engineers, commercial engineering offices, companies (geoinformation, traffic, cartography, photogrammetry, energy supply, etc.), credit / real estate, construction, expert / planning offices, property departments large companies, municipalities / specialist administrations, aerospace, software development, science (teaching / research at universities, research institutions, etc.
