Geodesy deals with the measurement of the earth in global, regional and local scales. The geographic information in turn establishes the connection between the recorded data and their spatial reference, the processing with computer-aided methods and their presentation with digital geographic information systems.
The master’s program initially offers advanced modules in four areas: global monitoring, geodetic optimization and multi-sensor systems, photogrammetry and geographic information systems as well as urban renewal and urban redevelopment. These serve to get closer to the individual departments and thus to identify possible focal points of interest. In the further course of study, more specific topics can then be deepened using free options in the elective, block and project modules. The research-oriented structure of the course prepares students for engineering jobs in business, administration or science. The aim is to impart higher mathematical, methodological and technical skills that correspond to current research topics in geodesy and geoinformation.
