The subject of the course is the animal-friendly, resource and environmentally friendly production of food of animal origin at national and international level. For example, questions of nutrition, breeding or production technology as well as the prevention of diseases and the quality of the animal foods produced are considered. In addition, topics such as animal welfare and animal health are important components of the course.

Building on the content of the Bonn Bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences, students acquire in-depth knowledge in the areas of animal nutrition, animal breeding and husbandry, and animal health. In addition, the students are enabled to carry out independent and innovative research as well as to follow methods, procedures and strategies independently and further develop them in a problem-oriented manner.
