Overview

Overview

The aim of the master’s program Transnational European and East Asian Culture and History (TEACH) is to build solid regional, linguistic and methodological skills for cross-cultural, international and transnational work and research in Europe and East Asia. The course serves to acquire a master’s degree at the University of Bonn and a second master’s degree at the Japanese or Korean partner university. Mandatory one-semester study visits to Japan and Korea are therefore part of the course.

The master’s degree builds on linguistic and methodological knowledge and skills acquired in a Japan or Korea-related bachelor’s degree. This knowledge is applied to a second country - for Japanologists: Korea; for Koreanists: Japan - as well as expanded to include a European perspective.
