In the Protestant theology course, in-depth, research-oriented knowledge as well as methodical and analytical skills in all main theological disciplines are imparted (Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, Systematic Theology and Practical Theology). The students expand their knowledge of Christianity as a possibility of human interpretation, lifestyle and value finding as well as a formative factor of occidental culture and society. In addition, the relationships between the conditions and effects of leading action in social and church institutions are examined.
During their studies, students learn in particular to critically classify historical and current phenomena of the Christian religion, to research them independently and thus to solve complex problems, whereby special importance is attached to the Reformation perspective. The mediation of interdisciplinary, professionally relevant key qualifications plays an important role.
