At the center of this interdisciplinary course is a philosophy of religion, which is understood as a philosophy of religiously determined life plans. Accordingly, religious lifestyles and practices as well as the truth claims made by religions and the atheistic option are taken into account. The concept of religion developed in this way indicates what could connect different religions with one another and should therefore be helpful for their rational understanding.
The interdisciplinary orientation of the course is also reflected in the curriculum, which includes teaching staff from the various departments: Old Catholic / Protestant / Catholic theology, educational sciences, Indology, Islamic studies, philosophy, law and religious studies.
The aim of the course is to acquire specialist, scientific and generic key competencies in the context of interreligious, intercultural and interdisciplinary issues. The students are enabled to understand religious convictions from different perspectives and thus to think in an ideological foreign perspective, to solve problems independently and to work in a team.
