In the accompanying subject Bengali, the main focus is on language teaching and, in particular, on the passive mastery of the language, which makes it possible to include relevant sources for research and application.
With at least 300 million native speakers and several million second speakers, Bengali is one of the most widely spoken languages ??in the world. It also has a long and rich tradition of religious and non-religious literature. The Bengali language still plays an indispensable role in everyday life, science and politics in Bangladesh and in the Indian state of West Bengal, without whose knowledge it is hardly possible to sufficiently explore a field of research in these regions. After successfully completing the accompanying subject Bengali, students are able to read texts of medium difficulty in Bengali with the help of a dictionary.
This subject must be combined with another subject:

Incidentally, possible occupational fields correspond strongly with the core subject.
