With the unstoppable digitization and networking of all areas of life, the need to protect private individuals, companies and critical infrastructures from inadequately secured or manipulated computer systems increases. In order to minimize the possible risks of the increasingly complex digital infrastructures, the Cyber ??Security course provides the necessary specialist knowledge to train experts in this field.

The course has both a research and application-oriented orientation. In addition to a broad basic education in mathematical and information technology topics, the course offers a variety of specialization options in the field of cyber security as well as classic IT. For example, topics such as the analysis of malware, identity theft, the human factor in IT security, password security or technical possibilities in the defense and detection of cyber attacks can be deepened.

The technical area is supplemented by specialist knowledge in the minor subjects psychology and law, so that the actions of hackers can be traced and the legal framework in the IT area can be complied with.

IT security consulting (establishment of information security management systems in companies or evaluation of existing security strategies); IT security analysis (examination of critical infrastructure - for example in a hospital - for insufficiently secured components; training and implementation of awareness-raising measures) IT security expert in a CERT (analysis and evaluation of IT security incidents as well as coordination of reactive measures) science (Teaching / research at universities, research institutions, etc.)
