Generally speaking, the law regulates human behavior through a set of legal norms. Jurisprudence deals with problems of legislation and jurisprudence, takes a critical position on them and develops alternative solutions.
The aim of the course is to learn to understand and apply the basic rules of the legal system. Both written law and so-called customary law belong to that legal system. The laws in which these rules are reflected form the basis for this.
The ability to solve individual cases with knowledge of norms and norm contexts is limited in the accompanying subject to one of the three core subjects civil law, criminal law and public law or the fundamentals of law (legal history, philosophy and methodology).
This subject must be combined with another subject:
HZB (e.g. Abitur)
German language skills (language level GeR C1)
Administration (federal / state / district governments, local administrations), foreign service, international organizations (UN, WHO, OECD etc.), science (teaching / research at universities, research institutions etc.), journalism, public relations, media / communication industry ( Advertising, PR). Incidentally, possible occupational fields correspond strongly with the choice of the core subject.
