The aim of the English-language Master’s degree in Functional Materials is research-oriented training in the field of modern functional materials, which are becoming increasingly important in the technological world. The key to the further development of these materials lies in a detailed understanding of their quantum physical functional principles, their targeted production and the characterization of their properties. This understanding should be conveyed to you in a two-year master’s course in research-oriented basic, advanced and final modules.
The course focuses on the working mechanisms of modern functional materials and provides training with regard to their production, processing and characterization.
The course qualifies you for activities both in basic research in public and private research institutions and in applied research and development in industry in the fields of nanotechnology, chemistry, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Furthermore, the course creates the admission requirements for a later doctorate.
