Overview

The comparative cultural and religious studies course enables you to study the three subjects of European ethnology / cultural studies, religious studies and cultural and social anthropology as a bachelor's degree with three main focuses. The course provides you with basic scientific knowledge in the field of cultural and religious studies and also enables you to apply this knowledge professionally in a broad field.
During the course you will be familiarized with the forms of everyday life and with popular cultural phenomena in European and non-European, contemporary and historical contexts. And not on a theoretical level, but also through our own small empirical research. You will acquire knowledge in the field of cultural, ethnic and religious phenomena and problem areas as well as knowledge that should qualify you for practical cultural work.
The bachelor's degree in Comparative Cultural and Religious Studies is transdisciplinary, but also takes specific disciplinary competencies into account, as students can choose from the three major subjects European Ethnology / Cultural Studies, Religious Studies, and Cultural and Social Anthropology and specialize in one of these during their studies .

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

General university entrance qualification or subject-related university entrance qualification 1 or technical college entrance qualification or master craftsman's examination as well as comparable qualifications in professional advancement training or professionally qualified persons

Course-specific knowledge and skills to be proven prior to admission

Knowledge of two foreign languages ??at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages .

If knowledge of Latin or Greek is claimed instead of one of the modern foreign languages, this must be proven at the level of the Latinum or the Graecum by means of an Abitur certificate or otherwise.

If the required foreign language skills of a foreign language are not available when applying for the study place at level B1 , admission is possible with the condition that the required level is proven by the re-registration for the third semester. Crediting of these achievements within the course as a profile module is not possible.
