Building on a basic knowledge of chemistry, the master's degree in chemistry leads to a second professional qualification in 4 semesters.
The training is based on the research areas that are worked on at the HHU without losing the connection to professional practice.
Theoretical knowledge as well as method and system competence is imparted in the research fields of biological chemistry, molecular catalysis, modern materials or excited state processes.
The master’s course is not designed for training in just one specialist area, but rather is intended to enable graduates to familiarize themselves quickly and efficiently with each specialist area on the basis of a solid foundation.
In compulsory and compulsory elective modules, students are enabled to independently identify and solve complex problems. The competencies acquired in this way enable you to study for a doctorate, but also prepare you for taking on management tasks in the economic-scientific field.
The four-semester master’s course is a research-oriented postgraduate course for interested students to deepen their scientific knowledge.
Students on the master’s course specialize on the basis of compulsory elective subjects and receive training in current research areas. There is an opportunity to do a doctorate.
Master's degree (MSc)
The consecutive master’s degree in chemistry at Heinrich Heine University builds on a previous successful bachelor’s degree in chemistry and is aimed at scientifically interested students.
All offered Master of Science courses in chemistry have been accredited by ASIIN according to the ECTS credit point system and thus facilitate international exchange
