Overview

Art history conveys basic knowledge of artistic production from the beginnings to the present in the various genres (painting, printmaking, sculpture / sculpture, architecture, garden art, applied arts, photography, film, new media, installation, performance). In addition, the material and ideal prerequisites that lead to the creation of works of art, the artistic materials and techniques, art perceptions and art theories as well as the history of one's own science are researched.

Program Structure

Art history with a focus on Europe and America is combined with a 90-credit core subject as a 60-credit module. As a 30 CP module offer, it is combined with a suitable 120 CP core subject or a 90 CP core subject and a further 30 CP module offer.

The course of the 60 CP and 30 CP module offer includes an introductory and an advanced phase.

The course regulations regulate the structure and process of the course. It contains detailed descriptions of the content and qualification goals of each individual module and an exemplary course plan. The examination regulations define the type and requirements of the module examination. In the regulations, the credit points (CP) for each module or event as well as the workload in hours for the entire course are specified.

Bachelor graduates have scientific knowledge and practical skills that qualify them for a job or a postgraduate course. Since general art history is studied as a module as part of a combined bachelor's degree, the chosen core subject shapes the professional qualification.
