The master’s degree in computer engineering provides in-depth knowledge and understanding of advanced concepts, methods and technologies in computer science and IT-related communication technology. Students get to the current state of science and can develop and implement scientifically sound solutions for complex problems.
First, the specialist knowledge in technical computer science, theoretical computer science and mathematics is deepened . The technical specialization takes place through the individual combination of several elective modules from different disciplines of computer science and communication technology. These subjects impart an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the advanced concepts, methods and technologies of the chosen disciplines. Each student has the opportunity to design the subject-specific orientation of the course according to their personal interests. A high proportion of internships and projectsensures that students can relate what they have learned in the individual subjects and use them to solve demanding practical and theoretical problems.
The course includes active participation in a current research project at the institutefirmly anchored. Here the students practice the scientifically sound analysis and solution of new, exciting problems. You will learn to present and defend your own R&D results in writing and orally. The course concludes with the preparation of a master’s thesis: Methods and techniques of scientific work are independently applied to a demanding task. The professional training course for Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) is offered alongside the studies.
The admission requirement is a bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant scientific or technical course of study . Any course of study that conveys competencies from the fields of mathematics, physics, electrical engineering and computer science with at least 110 credit points is relevant. The first degree should be completed with a total of 210 ECTS credit points with an overall grade of 2.5 or better . Section 3 of the examination regulations regulates further details .
