Overview

The "IT Management" course is mainly about the practical application of complex IT systems and networks. The focus is on the one hand in the technical areas of computer organization, databases and IT security, on the other hand in the area of ??technological competencies with topics such as mobile computing, web architectures and virtualization. Precisely because IT content is now also managed outside of the company, such as in grid or cloud computing, IT specialists must be able to absorb the requirements of the specialist departments and implement them in secure IT landscapes. For this purpose, the students in projects and seminars at the university also acquire, among other things, social skills for interdisciplinary communication in order to be able to work successfully in interdisciplinary teams.

As with all computer science courses, mathematics, algorithms and programming are the most important basic subjects. The basics of business administration, project work or the subject of operating systems and computer architectures are just as indispensable. The strong practical relevance of the course is not only based on the course content, but also on the skills of the lecturers, who all have professional experience in management positions in business.
