Planning production systems for the manufacture of products, controlling the flow of materials through the company, managing employees, solving production problems from an economic and ecological point of view, these are the tasks of our industrial engineers in production and logistics (industrial engineering)


The full-time study has a standard study time of 7 semesters. It is divided into three sections.

Compulsory modules (1st - 3rd semester)

In the compulsory modules of the first three semesters, you will acquire basic scientific, technical, organizational and business knowledge. In addition to modules such as mathematics, technical mechanics, control technology, design theory, operational organization, controlling, and basics of logistics are also on the lecture schedule.

Practical semester (4th semester)

The practical semester in the 4th semester, with a duration of at least 22 weeks, gives you an insight into the work of production or logistics companies. You apply the theoretical knowledge you have acquired so far in practice. You will get a first insight into the diverse range of tasks of engineers in production technology and logistics.

Elective modules (5th - 7th semester)

In the last three semesters you specialize in production technology and logistics.

Logistics considers the flow of materials and goods from suppliers to customers (supply chain) with modules such as B. Procurement logistics and logistics IT.

    In addition to the compulsory elective modules, you can choose a total of 5 additional specialization modules from a wide range of options according to your personal interests.


They understand the work of the designer and the production planner as well as cost management, marketing or sales. Industrial engineers can be found in medium-sized companies as well as in corporations in various industries. Preferred fields of activity are the production and logistics areas. The proportion of industrial engineers has increased significantly in recent years, especially in the service sector. More and more management consultancies employ industrial engineers when it comes to improving the production processes in the client's company.

As a Bachelor of Engineering Production and Logistics (industrial engineer) you will mainly work in the following operational functions and tasks:

  • Work preparation, production planning and control
  • Logistics, materials management, management / corporate governance
  • Quality management, quality assurance
  • Purchasing, procurement
  • Marketing and Sales
  • Product and process development
  • Controlling
