Many construction projects today are characterized by high investment volumes, numerous project participants, technical innovations, extensive quality requirements, tight deadlines and enormous cost pressure. For the successful development, planning and execution of such complex construction projects, comprehensive management skills are required in addition to specialist knowledge. This is why specially qualified project managers are increasingly taking on the demanding coordination and management tasks of building owners (organizations), general planners, general contractors or other forms of company deployment.

The project management construction course is job-related and oriented towards practical requirements. The imparting of basic knowledge (in particular the basics of construction) is followed by subjects from the second year of study that deepen management-related specialist knowledge and develop the necessary key competencies.

The students get to know the opportunities and special features of interdisciplinary cooperation during their studies. Due to the specific design of the course offering with courses that are also used synergistically by prospective architects and civil engineers, interdisciplinary learning, working and cooperation is practiced and consolidated at an early stage and continuously.

The project management construction course set up in 2000 at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences provides the necessary qualifications for the interdisciplinary engineering work of the project manager. The successful degree enables you to perform the necessary management services for complex construction projects from conception, planning and construction to handover including use or operation and renovation.
