Overview

The aim of the course is to give students the ability to work in engineering in the various branches of mechanical engineering. This requires technical, business and foreign language skills as well as the methods of project and quality management. The work of the students during their studies in the cooperating companies combines theory and practice. The students learn to delimit and analyze technical issues as well as to develop, plan and detail related solution concepts. The basic directions of construction, production and plastics technology offer a professional specialization.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The basic technical modules provide a solid basis for the diverse tasks in mechanical engineering. In the specializations from the 4th semester onwards and in the compulsory elective modules, students can devote themselves to different areas of focus according to their individual inclinations. In three company projects and as part of the bachelor thesis, the students carry out projects related to operational practice in coordination with the lecturers. In this context, company-specific topics and contents can be deepened in order to prepare the students for the special
tasks in operational practice.

The course qualifies you for a successful career start as an engineer and a postgraduate master’s degree.

Mechanical engineers are sought-after specialists and executives in many industries, for example in companies in mechanical and plant engineering, the construction and basic industry, the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, in consulting companies, in companies in the consumer goods industry, in design offices, and in electrical engineering companies , the electrical industry and vehicle construction.
