Overview

The aim of the four-semester master’s degree is to impart all the skills necessary to solve all specialist and management tasks in the field of all common FM processes. The course prepares you both for assuming strategic responsibility in the company and for tasks in the field of scientific research.

The content relates to the acquisition of professional skills in many areas, for example:

  • Strategic facility management
  • Marketing, Entrepreneurship
  • Portfolio management
  • Workplace Management
  • Information and communication technology
  • Scientific work

You will be able to work with experts from various specialist disciplines to find solutions on a scientific basis and to lead projects in a result-oriented manner. In addition, management skills and special procedures for managing a real estate business are taught. The imparting of technical, methodological and social skills is of equal importance here.

Practical case studies in seminars and lectures, a modern laboratory environment and numerous practical projects with industrial partners ensure constant practical relevance. When solving interdisciplinary questions, you will get to know how to communicate with everyone involved:

  • Owners and users
  • Civil, utility and energy engineers
  • Architects
  • Business people, lawyers and other experts

The master's thesis deals with a complex task with interdisciplinary requirements. Here the graduates acquire the ability to solve a practical problem using scientific methodology.

The Facility Management master’s degree is offered in cooperation with the Berlin University of Applied Sciences and the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The Master’s course builds on the Facility Management Bachelor’s course at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin.

However, graduates from related subjects can also complete this master’s degree, for example:

  • Real estate economy or real estate management
  • architecture
  • Civil engineering
  • Surveying
  • Technical building management
  • building technology
  • Supply and disposal technology

The Facility Management master’s course can be taken immediately after completing a bachelor’s degree.

An intermediate professional phase is not necessary but advisable.

The Facility Management Master paves the way for a management role in medium-sized or larger companies. The completion of this master’s degree also lays the foundation for the preparation of a dissertation, access to the higher service in public administration or the development of your own company.
