Overview

The Physical Technology - Medical Physics course offers modules in experimental physics, mathematics, medical measurement electronics, biology, medicine, chemistry and IT.

In the 4th and 5th semester there are elective courses for deepening and specialization. Here, the students gain insights into current developments in physical technology and medical physics such as B. Signal acquisition and processing, imaging processes and radiation physics in diagnostics and therapy.

Practical teaching in the laboratories

The degree program has the following laboratories available for teaching and applied research and development:

  • Optics and laser technology

We do not only make our graduates technically fit for professional life. Our students also learn system-oriented and business thinking, project-oriented work, the ability to work in a team and presentation techniques.

This means that you will later have a career in both a specialist and management career, or you can start your own company with new ideas.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Graduates of the bachelor's degree in Physical Technology - Medical Physics work as sought-after experts in the healthcare sector, in industrial companies or in public authorities. There they are responsible for the safety of medical technology systems or are involved in their hardware and software development.

You can operate large medical devices as well as instruct and train the relevant personnel.

Sales and technical customer service for medical devices and systems are also part of the job, as is commissioning or technical monitoring as a representative of authorities and testing centers.

The multitude and complexity of the procedures used today requires graduates with a fundamentally intensive and application-oriented degree. Both are ideally guaranteed in the course by university lecturers with experience in science and practice.

The consecutive degree in Physical Technology - Medical Physics is certified by the German Society for Medical Physics (DGMP)
