Overview

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Observing the earth from space, controlling combine harvesters with satellites, observing the swaying of skyscrapers with millimeter precision, showing the way with digital maps and navigation systems and creating three-dimensional landscapes - these and much more are solutions that are fulfilled by geographic information.

It includes the documentation of objects, properties and facts from our environment. Geospatial information refers to spatial data, the geospatial data. They can be derived from this and managed with the help of databases.

The geodata are recorded, processed, analyzed and presented. This evap principle forms the basis for three professional fields and the broad study focus areas of geoinformation:

  • Applied geoinformatics
  • geodesy
  • Geomedia and Cartography

Basic mathematical and scientific knowledge and interdisciplinary key qualifications such as information technology, presentation techniques and the ability to work in a team enable graduates to methodically penetrate complex processes through integrated ways of thinking and acting and to find suitable approaches to the problems that arise. This corresponds to the requirements of business, industry and administration.

Supervision in small groups in modern PC pools and laboratories guarantees the success of your studies.

After an orientation phase in the first and second semester, the students decide on one of the three main areas that are mentioned on the degree certificate in front of the course name.

The course is practice-oriented and provides for a practical phase of 12 weeks in the 4th semester.

  • University entrance qualification, subject-specific or general university entrance qualification or a legally stipulated university entrance qualification (e.g. §11 BerlHG)
  • A subject-specific pre-study internship is not required.
