The university bachelor's degree in Management [Construction Real Estate Infrastructure] is completed after 6 semesters of standard study time with the academic degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). In accordance with the Thuringian Architects and Engineers Chamber Act (ThürAIKG), our graduates are called engineers.

In the first three semesters, you will learn the general basics of economics and engineering, application-oriented basic knowledge and skills as well as specific technical and methodological skills (basic course). The specialist course begins in the 4th semester and is mainly dedicated to interdisciplinary fundamentals such as project development, property valuation, and project, quality, ethics, risk, stakeholder and strategic management. 

With the final bachelor thesis, you acquire your first academic professional qualification and can further expand your know-how in the consecutive master’s course ! 




The bachelor's degree in Management [Construction Real Estate Infrastructure] lasts six semesters , ie three years. During this time you will go through several modules , each of which concludes with an examination (written exam, project work, term paper, etc.). You will receive credit points for each completed module. In total, you need to earn 180 credit points to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree . 

Didactically, the bachelor's degree in Management [Construction Real Estate Infrastructure] is divided into three parts: 

  • General basics and personality development
  • Basic disciplinary foundations
  • Interdisciplinary basics

The content is conveyed to you in lectures , exercises and application- related project work . In addition to the acquisition of subject-specific key qualifications - such as B. Technical drawing, library research, scientific work and rhetoric - the practical, holistic and interdisciplinary examination of buildings and structures in their life cycle.

In addition, we attach great importance to personal development through courses such as rhetoric, presentation and negotiation from the beginning of the course in order to strengthen your social competence, communication skills and management capacities. In field trips and guest lectures to get insight into the professional practice. 

twelve-week construction, real estate or infrastructure-oriented practical activity must be proven by the application for the bachelor thesis at the latest . The internship can be completed in one or more companies. Completed vocational training in a building trade, in the real estate or infrastructure industry, in the finance industry and in legal advice are recognized as proof of internship. It is strongly recommended that you complete at least four weeks of the internship before starting your studies.

With the final bachelor thesis , which can be integrated into current research projects of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and is intensively supervised there, you prove your ability to work scientifically.

  • the general university entrance qualification or the subject-specific university entrance qualification
  • successful completion of the master craftsman examination,
  • the successful completion of a course to become a state-certified technician or state-certified business economist.

The admission requirement for the course is a 12-week internship, which is not part of the course. Any missing proof of the internship at the beginning of the course will be included in the admission to the course as a condition. Proof of the internship must be submitted at the latest when applying for admission to the bachelor thesis (usually in the 6th FS). It is recommended, but not absolutely necessary, to have completed this internship at least 4 weeks before the start of the course; the remaining weeks can be completed during the course. Further details are regulated in the internship regulations.

The prerequisite for the admission of international students to the course is proof of language skills in German at skill level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (GER)

a) Proof of mother tongue (acquisition of university entrance qualification or a first professional qualification in a German-speaking country) or

b) Evidence based on one of the following certificates

  • DSH-2 or TestDaF (at least 4 x TDN 4)
  • or equivalent evidence.



In the Management [Construction Real Estate Infrastructure] course, engineers are trained who meet the changing needs of the job market in the construction, real estate and infrastructure society and who have interdisciplinary knowledge and skills.

The students learn to think and act in a networked, system-oriented and entrepreneurial manner. This enables them to take on an interface function in all areas of the value chain planning, building, financing, maintaining and operating.

In order to make this possible, in addition to in-depth knowledge in construction, basic and in-depth industry-relevant knowledge in the field of economics as well as relevant knowledge in the disciplines of law and contracts, IT and media are imparted during the course. In addition, social skills, communication skills, management capacities and leadership potential are trained. This course integrates the point of view and the way of thinking of civil engineers, architects, business people and lawyers and enables the management of critical interfaces.

After completing your studies, you will be able to work in a variety of ways and internationally and be able to take on clerical and managerial tasks of medium complexity at the lower management level both in the public sector and in commercial enterprises.

The diverse activities include: 

  • Development, implementation and monitoring of public or private-economic projects in the real estate and infrastructure sectors,
  • Economic feasibility studies of construction, real estate and infrastructure projects,
  • Management tasks in the construction, real estate and infrastructure industries: market analyzes, strategy and business development, project / company controlling, risk and quality management, construction site logistics,
  • Tasks of technical, infrastructural and commercial facility management,
  • Structuring of insurance solutions and other services in the insurance industry.
