The bachelor's degree in civil engineering lasts six semesters , ie three years. During this time you will go through several modules , each of which concludes with an examination (written exam, project work, term paper, etc.). You will receive credit points for each completed module. In total, you need to earn 180 credit points to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree . 

The content is conveyed to you in lectures , exercises and application- related project work . In addition to the acquisition of subject-specific key qualifications - such as B. Technical drawing, library research, scientific work and rhetoric - the practical, holistic and interdisciplinary examination of buildings and structures in their life cycle. In field trips , guest speakers , and a twelve-week internship you will gain insight into professional practice. The course concludes with a bachelor thesis in the sixth semester.

  • the general university entrance qualification or the subject-specific university entrance qualification
  • successful completion of the master craftsman examination,
  • the successful completion of a course to become a state-certified technician or state-certified business economist.

The admission requirement for the course is a 12-week internship, which is not part of the course. Any missing proof of the internship at the beginning of the course will be included in the admission to the course as a condition. Proof of the internship must be submitted at the latest when applying for admission to the bachelor thesis (usually in the 6th FS). It is recommended, but not absolutely necessary, to have completed this internship at least 4 weeks before the start of the course; the remaining weeks can be completed during the course. Further details are regulated in the internship regulations.

The prerequisite for the admission of international students to the course is proof of language skills in German at skill level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (GER)

a) Proof of mother tongue (acquisition of university entrance qualification or a first professional qualification in a German-speaking country) or

b) Evidence based on one of the following certificates

  • DSH-2 or TestDaF (at least 4 x TDN 4)
  • or equivalent evidence.
