There are no minimum IELTS Eligibility criteria set by the conducting bodies like IDP and British Council for the IELTS Exam. IELTS is a language proficiency test which is given by those students who desire to study in an English speaking country and aim to gain global exposure. The medium of teaching in a majority of the colleges, universities and educational institutions in the major English speaking countries is English language only. So, the Students should have a basic understanding of the language in order to pursue their higher studies successfully. According to the IELTS Exam Pattern, the candidates are assessed on four parameters Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
The IELTS Exam is conducted in formats IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training Test. The IELTS Academic is given by those who wish to pursue higher studies in a foreign country, whereas the IELTS General Training Test is for those who want to go to major English speaking countries for pursuing secondary education or gain work experience. Other than this, it is also used for migration to major economies of the world like the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. However, a majority of the well known educational institutes across the world require IELTS total score of 7.0 band with section scores of 6.5 band as eligibility for IELTS.
Universities around the world has a different set of requirements and their own set of rules and regulations for giving admissions. Also, all the universities have set different IELTS Eligibility Criteria which candidates need to fulfill for getting admission. Apart from this, Students should also match the other eligibility criteria set by the university or the educational institute where they are planning to enroll.
The minimum age for giving the IELTS exam is 16 years. Anyone over the age of 16 can give the IELTS Test irrespective of nationality or background. Exceptions are made if the school requires IELTS Scores for admission. There is no age limit or eligibility criteria set by the ETS, the body that conducts this exam, but it is preferred that the aspirant should have crossed 16 years of age.

A. As such there are no criteria set to appear for the IELTS exam. Also, there are no minimum marks or percentage criteria set to give the IELTS exam. students need not have minimum scores in their high school to appear for the IELTS test.

A. No, there arent any minimum score required to pass the IELTS test. An IELTS result is calculated from band 1 to band 9 (highest). There is a 'band 0' score as well for those who had not given the test.
Q. Are watches allowed in the IELTS test?
A. Students who are appearing for the exam not allowed to wear a watch in the IELTS test center. A clock is there in the test center, so, studnets can check the time there.
Q. What is the age limit for IELTS?
There are no rules as such regarding the age of the students. Anyone can take the IELTS test irrespective of age, gender, race, nationality, or religion, however, the IELTS test is not advisable for those below 16 years of age.
Q. Can the IELTS test be completed in one day?
A. The Reading, Writing, and Listening tests can be taken in one attempt on the same day. The Speaking test will be held even on the test day, or two days after the test date, or seven days before the test date depending on the arrangements done by the local IELTS test center.
Q. What to do if the test taker falls sick on the test day?
A. If you cannot attempt the test on the test date then you will lose your exam fee. However if you provide a medical certificate within 5 days of the test date then you will receive a refund after deducting the local administrative cost.

A. You will need to attempt the Listening test first, followed by the Reading and Writing tests. The Speaking test will can be held either on the same day or two days after the test date or seven days before the test date.
