In the major in mathematics, subject-specific and subject-related didactic content is also deepened.

Science

In the courses in the subject or specialization subject, questions and methods of subject-related research are developed and current subject-didactic debates are acquired, discussed and related to the reality of the school. Using educational and developmental psychological theories and current research results as well as the method of research-based learning, the students design their own didactic research projects, carry them out and evaluate them. These research projects can focus on the subject of subject teaching itself, its framework conditions, or research-based learning by students in subject teaching. The theoretical fundamentals of the subject, requirements of teaching practice and current research results should be linked with one another or

English

In the courses in English as a major or specialization subject, students deal with the central areas of foreign language didactics, for which different conceptual approaches as well as extensive conceptual and empirical research literature are available. In addition to the current discussion, the content can address historical developments and an outlook on future developments as well as fundamental principles and problems of foreign language teaching.

Following the practical semester, the students' experiences are taken up and deepened based on theory. This includes the use of teaching methods and teaching and learning materials as well as opportunities for differentiation and individualization as well as the promotion and evaluation of competencies. In addition, against this practical background, an extended examination of the research methods of foreign language didactics takes place.

In the specialization subject, the students also expand their specialist knowledge in a chosen subject area.

French

In the courses in the French major, students work on content from the central areas of foreign language didactics and learn about different conceptual approaches and results from both conceptual and empirical research literature. In addition to the current discussion, the students can use the content to address historical developments and an outlook on future developments as well as recognize fundamental principles and problems of foreign language teaching.

Furthermore, oral and written skills of the French language and appropriate interaction with the students in their language acquisition process are trained in the students. With regard to the later teaching activity, elements of the teacher's language are conveyed as well as technical content such as historical and cultural conditions of the target countries using different media.

In the accompaniment and supervision of the practice, questions for the participant observation and research of teaching, education and school design are developed and specific subject-specific teaching drafts are discussed, reflected on their practical implementation and further specified with reference to special school conditions or content characteristics. In the school internship, observation tasks and lessons with own teaching activities are carried out and documented. The lesson observations, analyzes and independent practical teaching attempts take into account the respective school and lesson-specific issues.

The university events also provide an insight into the basic structures and institutional framework of the school system as well as into the requirements and conditions of school development. The focus is on the observation, assessment and design of lessons. From basic teaching and learning theory concepts, educational theory approaches and current findings in learning and teaching research, quality features of teaching are derived and basic didactic questions are discussed against this background.
