Overview

The range of modules provides the first theoretical basics as well as application-oriented knowledge of modern management theory. In particular, it offers an exemplary insight into the selected concepts, theories and methods. In addition to the first technical basics, a methodological set of tools is taught for analyzing and dealing with problems. The course offers guided applications of specialist knowledge in reflective discussions of selected problem areas as well as applications of these instruments beyond business contexts.

Program Structure

The admission requirement is admission to a bachelor’s degree at Freie Universität Berlin, the core subject of which does not exceed 120 credit points (CP), provided that it cannot be combined with the range of modules due to other regulations.

In the module offer, a total of 30 CP must be proven. The following modules must be completed as part of the range of modules:

Compulsory modules totaling 18 CP:

- Module: Management - A Problem-Oriented Introduction (6 CP),

- Module: Organizational Theory (6 CP) and

- Module: Research Seminar Organization (6 CP).

Two elective modules totaling 12 credit points:

- Module: Supply & Operations Management (6 CP),

- Module: Basics of personnel policy (6 CP),

- Module: Strategic Management (6 CP),

- Module: Business Cooperation (6 CP),

- Module: Corporate Governance (6 CP) and / or

- Module: International Management (6 CP).

Career Prospects

The graduates of the module offer have a systematic overview of the functions and institutions of management, theories of organization and organization as well as practical management problems in and between organizations. They are able to interpret the knowledge and apply individual, essential management concepts on a case-by-case basis.

Graduates are qualified to reflect critically on the work and procedures they have learned and to recognize their fields of application and limits. They are able to communicate and cooperate beyond their own subject and are sensitive to the different interests of the actors in business practice and the resulting conflicts.

The possible fields of activity of the graduates are extremely diverse, with special consideration of the chosen core subject and include activities in national and international organizations, public administrations, companies, associations, chambers, trade unions, media, cultural institutions or in freelance work.
