The master's degree in energy management and energy systems takes into account the current and future requirements of the energy transition.
The increasing decentralization of energy generation, the increase in fluctuating renewable energies as well as the task of coupling electricity, heating, cooling and mobility across sectors mean a major challenge for intelligent energy management.
Coming from supply engineering, the main focus of the full-time master’s degree is at the interfaces between buildings, trade and industry and the public electricity, gas and district heating networks as well as the network-related operation of the systems.
The contents of the course include project management and corporate management, energy and heating technology with regenerative, central and decentralized energy supplies through to system simulation, automation systems, process management and facility management. Another focus is on energy management and future energy sources.
The lecture content is supplemented by self-study and the presentation of two project work from the range of topics. In the third semester, a master's thesis is to be written, the aim of which is to work on and deepen a scientific topic, either in an industrial company or at the university.
The master’s degree can follow immediately after the bachelor’s degree, but engineers with practical experience can also take part in further trainingopen.
