In the media informatics master’s program, graduates of computer science courses can deepen and expand their skills. It is about the design, production, processing, distribution and use of media-based information. In the master’s degree you learn how to analyze, design, implement, adapt, operate and evaluate web-based processes and systems.

The course should also promote social skills and personal skills such as context-appropriate communication, independence, creativity, openness and prepare students for the master’s examination. In addition, the course gives students the opportunity to specialize and deepen their scientific knowledge. The five major subjects of human computer interaction, multi-perspective product development, social computing, visual computing and weaving the web serve this purpose . The enrollment is based on the focus of your studies.

Through the cooperation with universities, educational institutions and, above all, companies in the media metropolis of Cologne, the course content is constantly updated. Projects for and with media companies guarantee constant practical relevance, as well as scientific support by professors and lecturers with professional experience.

In the master’s program, projects and elective subjects often result in connections with higher education institutions and other institutions in Cologne. In order to promote this, the weeks in the semester in the media informatics master’s course are structured as follows:

  • The events take place on the Gummersbach campus four days a week (Tuesday to Friday),
